    After limited sleep I packed up this morning, grabbed an apple juice (¥500) and black coffee (¥650) at my hostel bar, then headed out.

    I’ve finally arrived. After almost not getting on the plane due to overbooking and several of us not being assigned a seat, my name was called and I was the last person boarding, despite arriving three hours early. Two people were not so lucky!

    I came here for a bit of rest, and a whole lot more food, obviously.  Toba is a lake on top of a supervolcano, it’s got a cooler climate than elsewhere, is lush, green and inhabited by some of the friendliest people yet
